Subject: Changing of folders selects a random email & hitting the delete button on an email deletes a random other mail
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Functionality
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Intermittent
Dear all,
I would be very happy if anyone has a suggestion regarding this error as it is very inconvenient and reappearing since 8.5.2. Scenario is as follows:
1)A user is reading mails in a folder - all is fine.
User changes to another folder: the first mail in this folder is automatically selected. Every time the user changes folders, the first mail of the new folder will be selected (check mark in margin).
2)A user selects an email (either by clicking it once or by putting the check mark in the margin) and hits the delete button on the keyboard/in the mailfile: a random other mail from the same folder is deleted
You can all imagine what kind of confusion this may cause, ranging from calls "...but I never deleted this/I am SURE I deleted that one..." to "but I never selected it/I moved a completely different mail to this and that folder", especially when it is not noticed immediately.
I cannot reproduce this issue on my computer, however on the machines of the affected users I can reproduce it always, even after reconfiguring. The only solution up until now was to completely uninstall and reinstall Notes, however this is very cumbersome and taking too long, we would like to have a hint what else we might consider checking.
We all use the same mail template. We have the same OS (Windows 7). We run the same 8.5.3 client.
Any experience or advice?
Thanks and best regards,
Susanne
